Luminis and Banner Administrative Systems outage on Friday, October 14 (1130pm-1145pm)

On Friday, October 14, 2011, emergency maintenance is scheduled for installation of a patch.  Work will begin at 1130pm and last approximately 15 minutes. During this time, Luminis (Highlander Pipeline), Student, Finance and Human Resources systems (including Internet Native Banner (INB), Banner Self-service, job submission, and Appworx), Admission Applications will be unavailable.  Full service is expected to be restored by 1145pm.

Luminis (Highlander Pipeline) Service Outage on Friday, October 14, 2011

Luminis (Highlander Pipeline) will be unavailable starting 11:0pm on Friday, October 14, 2011 for about 15 minutes.  During this time we will be applying another patch to resolve lingering intermittent Luminis service outage problem.   Thank you for understanding.

Slow Logins in the Public Computing Labs

See the lab assistant in any of the public computing labs if you are experiencing slow login times. Please remember to save your work to AFS, dropbox, or a thumb drive – NOT your desktop. The amount & size of files on your desktop means slower login times because these files are saved to your profile. At midnight the profile server will be restarted.

Luminis and Banner Administrative Systems outage on Thursday, Sept 29 (5am-7am)

On Thursday, September 29, 2011, emergency hardware maintenance is scheduled  for replacing faulty server hardware components.  Work will begin at 5am and last approximately 2 hours. During this time, Luminis (Highlander Pipeline), Student, Finance and Human Resources systems (including Internet Native Banner (INB), Banner Self-service, job submission, and Appworx), Admission Applications will be unavailable.  Full service is expected to be restored by 7am.

Planned Upgrade Outage: blogs.njit.edu

Web Services and UIS will be upgrading blogs.njit.edu this weekend to update the WordPress version and apply new branding and design templates. During this upgrade the blogs platform will be off-line and unavailable.

The upgrade is scheduled to be performed this Saturday, September 10th beginning at 8pm ET and is scheduled to be complete by 1 am ET on Sunday, September 11th, a total of 5 hours.

Slow Logons in Public Computing Labs

On Tuesday, September 6th, 2011 students reported slow logins in public computing labs. The problem was quickly identified as a dynamic memory allocation problem on the server and corrected. IST is evaluating the discontinuation of roaming profiles which will also improve login speed. More information about roaming profiles will be distributed soon.

Please report problems with lab computers to the Lab Assistant so problems are identified and quickly corrected. Your help will be appreciated!

Internet Connection Maintenance 9/2/2011 at 10 PM.

IST Telecommunications and Networks will be updating the main Internet router this Friday, 9/2/2011 at 10 PM.

The router maintenance will take place this Friday night from 10:00 PM to 10:30 PM. During this time there will be a 10-15 minute interruption in ALL Internet services to and from the campus. This includes but is not limited NJIT Web Services, and VPN.

This router update is required to facilitate the installation of a new circuit to NJEDge.NET and increased bandwidth.

On campus to on campus connectivity to services will not be impacted.
