GITC Electrical Shutdown – Saturday June 9, 7:00am – status update

Electrical power in GITC is scheduled to be restored by 8:00am this morning.  At that point, the process to bring IT services back online will be started.  The majority of IT services should be available by early afternoon today.  Student Gmail, Moodle and iTunes, which have been available throughout the power outage, will be briefly interrupted this morning as they are switched back from temporary to permanent platforms.  Further updates will be provided at this site.  Your continued patience is appreciated.


GITC Electrical Shutdown – Friday June 8 – status update

NJIT Physical Plant and PSE&G personnel are working around the clock to repair faulty electrical equipment in the GITC building.  At this time, if all goes according to schedule, IT service restoration will begin tomorrow morning, Saturday, with the majority of IT services being available by mid-afternoon.  Until then, student Gmail, Moodle and iTunes will continue to function as expected.  As this situation evolves and additional details develop, they will be shared at this site.  Thank you for your understanding


GITC Electrical Shutdown – Friday June 8 – status update

Due to an unforeseen electrical problem in GITC, there will be a significant delay in restoring full IT services.  At this time, the NJIT web site, student Gmail, Moodle and iTunes are available.  However, no other services will be available for the remainder of the day today.  When there is additional information about when services will be restored, that information will be posted at this location.  Thank you for your patience.


GITC Electrical Shutdown – Friday June 8

PSE&G has scheduled an electrical upgrade for the GITC building during the early morning hours of Friday, June 8. The upgrade will require that electrical power in GITC be shut off at about midnight and remain off until about around 7:00 am, significantly affecting campus information services and technology.
