IST will be applying operational and security updates to several systems from 9 pm Saturday, December 5th, to 11 am Sunday, December 6th, 2020. During this critical activity, many enterprise IT services (e.g. Banner, DegreeWorks, TouchNet, Infosilem) will be unavailable.


Webmail and Canvas will be available throughout most of this maintenance window, however, you may experience intermittent interruptions. Academic research services (e.g. HPC, Big Data), network access and telephone service will not be affected.

VPN Maintenance 11/1/20 Sunday night 11pm – Monday 1am

On Sunday night November 1 at 11pm through Monday morning at 1am, IST Core Systems and Telecommunications will be performing maintenance on the campus VPN server in order to install security upgrades.

During this maintenance window, VPN access may be intermittent with brief outages, and one outage lasting up to 20 minutes.

Service Restored: Issues receiving external telephone calls. Monday October 19, 2020

Update Oct 20 7am: Full telephone service was restored on October 20 at 4:15am by our external telephone provider.

Update Oct 19 10:30pm: Incoming telephone service is still unavailable. Our telephone provider has identified the the problem and is working to resolve it.

On Monday October 19 at approximately 12:15pm, incoming telephone service (calls made to NJIT from outside) became unavailable. We do not have an estimated time for resolution. Our external telephone provider has a service outage that is impacting many customers in the eastern United States.

Wireless Network Maintenance Sunday Sept 6, 2020 7am – 9am

On Sunday morning September 6, 2020 from 7am – 9am, maintenance will be performed on the wireless network. During this maintenance window, wireless network connectivity will not be available for approximately 15 – 30 minutes in the following buildings: Central King Building, GITC, ECEC, Student Mall, MEC, Micro, Tiernan, Faculty, Cullimore and Weston Halls. The wireless network in other buildings will not be impacted.
