Wired Network Outage to some of Laurel Hall – October 19, 2018

A switch has failed in Laurel Hall impacting wired connections in several rooms. We are working to replace the failed device as quickly as possible. Wireless has not been impacted.

Update : Kong was back in service at about 17:50 10/16

Kong will be shut down from 6 PM Monday 10/15 to 6 PM Tuesday 10/16
for emergency maintenance.

All compute nodes will be rebooted; all running jobs on those
nodes will be terminated.

Logins to the Kong headnode will be disabled during this period.

Completed: Internet Control Device Update 10/12/2018 at 6:30 AM to 7:30 AM

We will be performing a required update to the Internet Bandwidth Management device this Friday, October 12, 2018 starting at 6:30 AM and lasting until 7:30 AM.

During the maintenance period you may experience up to 3 brief Internet connection outages lasting 15 to 90 seconds. Actual downtime experienced was 2 seconds.

Most applications will automatically recover from the brief outages.

Resolved: Media Gallery Videos May Not Play in Moodle

7:50 PM Update: The issue is now resolved and media should be restored.

Original Message: There is currently an issue where some videos in Moodle may not play in the Media Gallery. NJIT is currently working with our provider to resolve this issue.


Service Restored at 12 noon. Intermittent Phone and Network and network issues 9/27/18


Service restored at 9/27/18 12 noon.

On Thursday morning 9/27/18 at 9:30am network connectivity to some phones and computer in CKB, Cypress, Honors, EDC3 and FSB became intermittent.  The issue is currently being researched.

Intermittent Webauth Authentication Service, 10 am – 10:15 am, 9/20/2018


There was an intermittent Webauth authentication service availbility between 10 am and 10:15 am, September 20, 2018.  The issue may have required users to retry their login.
