Moodle Downtime

On October 12th from 12:30 AM to 2:30 AM Moodle will be undergoing a mandatory security upgrade. During this time Moodle will be unavailable.

Update 10/2/17 11:45 AM : Service Restored. GITC 2nd and 3rd Floor Network Outages

Update 10/2/17 11:45am

Service has been restored to most areas of the GITC 2nd and 3rd on 10/2 at 1am.  A few devices on the 2nd and 3rd floor west side may have intermittent access.  Maintenance will be performed at 3:30pm- 4:30pm  on Monday 10/2/17 to replace a failed network device causing approximately a 30 minute outage for the remaining impacted devices.

Update 10/1/17 9:15PM:

NJIT Telecom is actively investigating reports of slow network connections, both wired and wireless on the Second and Third floors of the GITC building. In addition, some VoIP phones are briefly re-registering.

Yesterday’s reboot did not mitigate the connectivity issue.

Sunday Evening 9 PM  into Monday Morning 6AM; Telecom will be performing deep hardware diagnostics which will cause brief to lengthy network outages for wired, wireless, and phone service on the 2nd and 3rd floors of GITC.

We will be posting progress here as we continue to work on the investigation.

Highlander Pipeline intermittently available, 10/1/2017, 10 am – 7:05 pm

Highlander Pipeline portal service was intermittently available between 10:00 am – 7:05 pm, Sunday, 10/1/2017. The portal service was fully restored at 7:05 pm and all services, accessed through the portal, became available.

 

 

Update: GITC 2nd and 3rd Floor Network Outage at 12:01 AM 9/30/2017

NJIT Telecom is actively investigating reports of slow network connections, both wired and wireless on the Second and Third floors of the GITC building. In addition, some VoIP phones are briefly re-registering.

This Friday evening at midnight Telecom has scheduled a reboot of all network devices controlling these floors. There will be no network connectivity; wired, or wireless, or phone service; for 20 minutes starting at midnight.

We will be posting progress here as we continue to work on the investigation.

GITC 2nd and 3rd Floor Network Outage on Wednesday, 9/26/2017 at 7 AM

Telecom will be performing an emergency maintenance on the network equipment servicing all of GITC Third and Second Floor.

This maintenance will start tomorrow Wednesday 09/27 at 7AM.

During the maintenance window we anticipate there will be a 30 minute service interruption impacting telephones, wired, and wireless network connectivity on the second and third floors of the GITC building.

This maintenance is being done to replace a failing device before it fails.

TechSmith Relay Intermittent Access

TechSmith Relay is currently experiencing intermittent availability to users. At this time users may experience issues with uploading and the processing of recordings. We are aware of the problem and working to resolve services.

Update 9/18: At this time Relay uploads should now be processing. If you continue to have an issue please contact the IST Service Desk.

Currently servicedesk.njit.edu is down due to an outage with our vendor Cherwell. Currently there is no ETA as to when the service will be restored. Please contact the Service Desk with any problems or questions you may have until the site is restored.
