Power was out in the Student Mall, Oak, and Laurel starting at 1:30 pm today. Power was restored 23 minutes later at 1:53 pm. Login times and logoff times in public computing labs is very slow. We are working on the problem. Updates will be posted frequently until the problem is resolved.
On Tuesday, September 6th, 2011 students reported slow logins in public computing labs. The problem was quickly identified as a dynamic memory allocation problem on the server and corrected. IST is evaluating the discontinuation of roaming profiles which will also improve login speed. More information about roaming profiles will be distributed soon. A network outage has been reported in Fenster, Campus Center, and part of GITC. We are investigating the problem and will poster updates as soon as possible.
As of 5PM today all university-wide services, with the exception of the Intellectual Property system (Inteum C/S), are up and available. All AFS data and services became available at 7pm today. The following systems became available earlier today and were reported on previous postings: Oak, HPC, Kong & Harp, AFS Student websites, database(s), AFS web services, iTunes, Admissions Portal (applications), Student Employment (SEMS), Parking System (VRS), and Visitor Parking.
The following systems are now operational: iTunes, Admissions Portal (applications), Student Employment (SEMS), Parking System (VRS), and Visitor Parking.
