Moodle is now available again at http://moodle.njit.edu. All technical problems related to the Moodle service interruption have been resolved.
Electrical power in GITC has been turned off as scheduled for utility maintenance. Estimated time for power restoration is 7:00am. Moodle is unavailable due to an unforeseen technical problem. However, the NJIT web site, iTunes and student Gmail are functioning. The next status update will be posted at around 7:00am.
Most services have been shut down at this time. NJIT web site is up in “static” mode, i.e. there will be several “dead links”. Student Gmail is functioning. iTunes has been verified. Moodle is temporarily down and is under investigation. Electricity to GITC will be shut off shortly.
At this time, several services are being shut down as scheduled. These services include high performance computing (HPC) systems (i.e. Kong, Hydra, etc.) and legacy ERP services on Alpha nodes. At 10pm, service shutdowns will continue. Only four services will remain available through the night: the NJIT website, student Gmail, Moodle and iTunes.
PSE&G has scheduled an electrical upgrade for the GITC building during the early morning hours of Friday, June 8. The upgrade will require that electrical power in GITC be shut off at about midnight and remain off until about around 7:00 am, significantly affecting campus information services and technology. The NJIT Library Online Catalog is now available. (previous post at 9:33AM) The NJIT Library Online Catalog is currently unavailable. This problem is under investigation. Alpha administrative services are delayed this morning due to an unexpected problem during after-hours routine production processing.
