Upgrades to NJIT’s wireless network will be made during the upcoming Winter break. Wireless connectivity may be intermittent or unavailable from 5 pm Friday, January 5 until 9 am Saturday, January 6. The planned upgrades will improve wireless authentication and roaming performance.
You will need to accept a new security certificate after the January 6 upgrade. To accept the new certificate:
- “Forget” or delete all the NJIT wireless networks (SSID’s) on all your devices (this will need to be done from on-campus).
- Reconnect to the wireless network.
- When prompted, accept and verify the new certificate.
The upgrade applies to “NJITsecure”, “NJIT”, and “NJIThousing”.
When reconnecting, you are encouraged to use “NJITsecure”. “NJIT” is intended for guest usage or temporary devices only.
This maintenance only impacts the use of the on campus wireless network. It does not impact the use of VPN, Moodle, Webmail or other services.
Thank you for your patience. This maintenance window has been selected to minimize any interruptions during the semester.
