Update: Loss of IT Services Due to Power Failure

Update: 8:45 am April 15 – Power was fully restored to the GITC data center at approximately 8:30 am Friday, April 15.

We anticipate that many of our IT services will be available by 5:30 pm.

  • Access to Webmail by Google was restored yesterday afternoon.
  • Prior to bringing systems online, the GITC data center’s UPS battery backups will need to be charged for three hours.
  • Instructional systems, many of which are already available (access to Moodle and WebEX was restored yesterday), remain our top priority.
  • Web applications (i.e. Banner, complete website, tuition deposit, admissions applications) are scheduled to be restored by 5:30 pm.
  • Academic research computing systems (AFS, High Performance Computing) are scheduled to be restored by 6:30 pm.

We will provide updates throughout the day as progress is made. If you have any questions, please contact the NJIT Help Desk at 973-596-2900 (Monday – Friday, 8 am – 9 pm).
