Service restored – Internet Network Maintenance Saturday night – Sunday morning, March 12 – 13, 2016, 10 pm – 5 am

Internet service to the campus was restored on March 12 at 10:30pm. The NJIT website, Moodle, Banner, Admissions application services and the campus portal were restored on March 13 at 12:00am.

On Saturday night lasting through Sunday morning, March 12 – 13, 10 pm – 5 am, all access to NJIT websites, services, servers and the campus network will not be reachable from the Internet. These services include Moodle, Webmail, Banner, VPN, Admissions application services,and the campus portal. Workstations within the internal campus network and residence halls will not have connectivity to the Internet.

Upgrades will be performed on the network equipment supporting NJIT’s connection to the Internet during this maintenance window. This will impact all network access between the NJIT campus and the Internet.

• Between the hours of 10 pm – 1 am there will be no network access to the Internet.
• From 1 am – 5 am, users should expect intermittent access.

Only the main NJIT website http://www.njit.edu will be available from the Internet during the maintenance window.

Telephone service will continue to be available in all buildings.

  1. Please, please, PLEASE try to coordinate this with the professors of the online classes in the future. I have a midterm due tonight by midnight – I tried logging on at 8 PM and the Moodle site was already down. While I’m sure the demand for these services diminishes over the weekend, there are those of us in the online programs that have this as the only time we can access the site due to work and family obligations during the week. Hopefully the professor can make some alternate arrangements in this coming week.
