NJIT lost outgoing connectivity to the Internet today at approximately 8:45 AM. Off campus connectivity to NJIT services was not impacted. Outgoing connectivity was restored using a backup connection at approximately 9:05 AM. Early this evening a key networking component failed in the Central Avenue Building impacting all floors of the building above the second floor. Connectivity was restored at 10:30 AM. This outage was not related to the wiring project currently underway in the building. This morning at around 9:20am, a computer hardware failure resulted in several minutes of performance degradation. Information systems affected included Banner, Highlander pipeline and others. The hardware failure has been resolved. Information services that continue to be affected are under investigation. Please contact IST Helpdesk at ext 2900 for additional information.
The primary NJIT.edu webserver will be offline for approximately 5-10 minutes while services are being upgraded at 12:00am, Saturday, May 3.
